Don Rainwater, 87

Mr. Don Rainwater, 87, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Rainwater was born May 1, 1935, in Madill, OK to John Newton Rainwater and Lucinda Markham Rainwater. He served in the U. S. Army for 22 years and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Mr. Rainwater was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Rainwater; brothers, John Delbert Rainwater, Elvin Harding Rainwater, Elbert Carter Rainwater, William Reese Rainwater; sisters, Lynn Mavis Rainwater, Irene Martha Rainwater, Elva Iva Rainwater, Nova Marie Rainwater, and Fanchon Loretta Rainwater.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Gayle Rainwater of Swainsboro; daughters, Rebecca Roberts (Carl) of Mims, Fla., Kimberly French (Jason) of Laramie, MI, Melinda Averett (Dennis) of Kite; sister, Pat Vernell Rainwater; five grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Kennison and Evangelist Jeff Stark officiating. Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Alton Henry, Roger McCullough, Michael Wilcher, Charlie Nelson, Jimmy Peebles and Cameron Kennison.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
