Donald “Donnie” Beckworth Sr., 66

Memorial services will for Donald “Donnie” Beckworth Sr., 66, of Swainsboro will be held privately at a later date. He passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Donald “Donnie” Beckworth Sr. was born August 15, 1954 to the late J. D. Beckworth and Bertha Downs Beckworth in Emanuel County. A loving brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he was in the auto body repair business for 46 years, owning and working in body shops in both Emanuel and Jefferson counties. Mr. Beckworth was an avid guitarist and enjoyed singing with his family and friends. He had been a member of the Church of Nazarene of Swainsboro since 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tommy Beckworth, Jimmy Beckworth, and Nolan Beckworth; and sisters, Ann Newsome, and Carolyn Mimbs.

Survivors include his sons, Donald Beckworth Jr. (Kayla) of Atlanta and Samuel Beckworth of Dellwood; daughters, Fran (William) Brantley of Vidalia, Meagan Wright-Panos (Brandon) of Chandler, Arizona, Kaitlyn (Kyle) Nasworthy of Statesboro, and Makayla (Joe) Woods of Albany; sister, Margie Martin of Swainsboro; step-brother, Billy Poole (Erin) of Milledgeville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
