Dwayne Lamar Gibbs Sr., 61

Mr. Dwayne Lamar Gibbs Sr. 61 of Higgston, GA passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at his residence. The family of Mr. Gibbs will hold a “Celebration of Life” party on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the home of Mr. Dwayne Gibbs Jr., 104 Ochwalkee Road, Glenwood, GA. Anyone wishing to, is welcome to attend.

Mr. Gibbs was a longtime resident of Higgston, born January 31, 1961 to the late Lamar and Kathleen Gillis Gibbs. He was a master carpenter and enjoyed building anything out of wood. He owned his cabinet business for many years named Lamar Gibbs and Son Cabinet Builders. Mr. Gibbs thoroughly enjoyed fishing and dirt track racing. He enjoyed his weekly poker games with his close friends. Family was the most important thing to Lamar. He loved his son, grandbabies, and daughter with all his heart. For the past 11 years his companion Wanda brought much joy to his life. He loved her very much.

Survivors include his son, Dwayne Gibbs Jr. (Jessie) of Glenwood; his grandchildren, Layne Gibbs, and Layla Gibbs of Glenwood; his long-time companion, Wanda Paulk of Glenwood; his brothers: J.R. Gibbs (Vickie) of Missouri, Glenn Gibbs (Sharon) of Missouri and Terry Gibbs (Cathy) of Florida; his sister, Theresa Burg (Steve) of Missouri; his close friends, Andy Barwick (Renee), Randall McLeod, and Jerry Hester (Kathy) and Poley Gibbs (Cecelia).
