David Emanuel Academy finished its regular season in a big way this past Friday night. Grace Christian Academy would take a long drive from Bainbridge to Stillmore for an Eagles-versus-Eagles match-up, but the ride home would be even longer after being handed a 30–0 loss.
As numerous teams have found out this year, the boys from Stillmore play solid defense and put up massive numbers on the offensive front.
Sparkplug Racyn Faircloth quickly got things started at the Eagles Nest, going on a 56-yard run to put David Emanuel up 6–0. Riley Griner connected with Timothy Braddock for the 2-point conversion, and the hosting Eagles led 8–0 early in the game.
Jesse Moore would score DEA’s second touchdown of the night on a 37-yard run, making the score 14–0. Clayton Hood ran in the 2-point conversion to extend his team’s lead to 16–0.
Braddock went on a 5-yard run for David Emanuel’s third touchdown. The 2-point conversion failed, but the home team still increased its lead, 22–0.
DEA would put up its final numbers on the next series. Moore took the pigskin a massive 73 yards downfield for the team’s fourth and last touchdown to make the score 28–0, and Billy Martin, with a 2-point conversion on foot, sealed the deal for the 30–0 win.
Moore and Hood both had interceptions. Additionally, Moore and Cavan Calhoun recovered fumbles.
The latest victory was David Emanuel’s second shutout win; its last came October 1 over Nat Greene, 64–0.
With the regular season now complete, DEA looks to begin the playoffs. They will host the state quarterfinals on Friday, November 12, versus Victory Baptist from Loganville.
