Eagles resume basketball action with ninth straight win

David Emanuel Academy’s varsity basketball teams continued its season last week after a 17-day hiatus, and the boys seemed to be unfazed by the break, picking up their ninth consecutive win to continue on an unblemished record to date.

Action resumed at Alleluia Community School in Augusta on Friday, and the Eagles came up with a 53–49 win to remain undefeated.

Billy Martin was DEA’s lead scorer with 16 points. Randon Williams followed closely behind with 14, Jesse Moore added 10, Peyton Lee dumped in 5, Racyn Faircloth scored 4, and Timothy Braddock and Tony Sutton added 2 each.

Try as they might, the Lady Eagles, on the other hand, were no match for Alleluia. They lost 57–22.

Sarah Jo Perkins led the way for DEA with 10 points. Kaleigh Scarboro added another 8, Addalyn Terwilliger scored 2, and Molly Hammock and Emma Proctor both added 1 apiece.

DEA continued action on Tuesday with games against Trinity Christian in Statesboro. Results were unavailable at press time.

The Eagles should take on Coastal on Thursday and Heritage on Friday as well.

Look for those results in a future edition of The Chronicle.
