ECI blows Portal out in first Region game

By Justin Gray

The ECI Bulldogs headed into Friday’s game against Portal with a 2-4 record, but that didn’t matter at all now because it was time for region play. Portal has been better than usual this season coming into the game 4-3. The Dawgs, unfazed by that, came in and took care of business. They won the game 42-14 in blowout fashion and were perfect in every area.

That big senior group has been huge, turning the season around for the Dawgs. They are playing at a level they haven’t all season playing well on both sides of the ball. The Dawgs have some big time games coming up to decide the region. Coach Kearson said “It’s always good to get a win but even better to get a region win. Our guys played really well on both sides of the ball and competed hard for 4 quarters. Our team is dealing with a terrible tragedy as we had a player #58 Braxton Oliver was killed in a horrible accident over the weekend. We dedicate this win to OUR player of the game Braxton Oliver!” It has been a tough weekend for the football team and will be a tough week, please pray for all of Bulldog Nation. They go to McIntosh County Academy next week for a big game.
