ECI FBLA wins at state conference


Ten members of Emanuel County Institute’s FBLA chapter—Andrea Pullen, Catarina Wilson, Breana Librizzi, Alaya Hudson, Taylor Radford, Kati-Brooke Hooks, Salma Cueva, Faith Mincey, Lily Robertson, and Destiny Akridge—participated in the Virtual Georgia FBLA State Leadership Conference on March 23, 2021 and had a very successful showing.


Leading up to the conference, members competed in various events. On the day of the event, they participated in opening session, numerous leadership classes online, and the Awards of Excellence program.


The chapter received several awards, including being named a Superior Gold Chapter in the Chapter of the Year Program. ECI FBLA also received 10th overall chapter in the Division 2 of Chapter of the Year Program. The chapter also placed fifth in the Market Share Award.


Jessica Smith, adviser was recognized during the opening session for her three-year term on the Georgia FBLA State Board of Directors. She was also recognized as serving this year as Region 4 Area Vice President.


Faith Mincey and Salma Cueva placed seventh in Broadcast Journalism.


“I am extremely proud of this group of students,” Smith said, looking back at ECI’s representation at the state conference. “They have worked very hard to ensure success in a very challenging year!”
