ECI football comes up short in hard fought loss
By Justin Gray

Having a tough schedule is something you have to do to prepare yourself for later in the season, and the Bulldogs will be prepared because they are playing a gauntlet of a schedule.
They opened the season against rival Metter and lost a tough one. The Metter Tigers have been to the State semifinals in three straight seasons so playing a seasoned team like Metter always helps your experience.
This was a close game throughout and it was even stopped midway through for a long lightning delay. The Bulldogs were able to move the ball and play well against a very poised defense. Senior Running Back PJ Farnum had a long 30 yard touchdown run. Quarterback Bryce Kearson also had a good game throwing the football.
The final was 28-14 and the Bulldogs hope to get back on the winning track next week as they travel to Lincoln County, Friday September 3rd.
