ECI’s offensive outburst falls short
By Justin Gray

The Bulldogs drew a tough card, having to head to Telfair County in the first round. Telfair has been really good this year with an 8-2 record and has an explosive offense. This game would become a shootout quickly.
ECI’s offense was very impressive in this game. Led by seniors Bryce Kearson and PJ Farnum the offense has flourished all season. This game both the passing and the running game was impressive. The Bulldogs leading rusher was PJ Farnum as he was successful to say the least, rushing for 230 yards on 27 carries and FIVE touchdowns. QB Kearson had a good day too throwing for 165 yards and a touchdown. The leading receiver was Cord Lee with four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs dropped this one 62-37 and were knocked out of the playoffs.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 4-7 record, but don’t let that fool you, for the first six games they played teams in higher classifications and won some of those games. This team has a lot to be proud of. A proud Coach Kearson said, “We obviously didn’t finish the way we wanted to but these kids fought so hard after all the adversity they’ve had to endure. We’ll remember the good times and relish the time we spent together making memories. I love these players and all their hard work they put in. We’re often judged by the physical score or outcome of competition but not on the trials you endure to get to the finish line. These guys are and always will be winners in life.”
The Crossroads Chronicle would like to congratulate the ECI Bulldogs football team on everything they accomplished this season.
