EGSC Lady Bobcats win big on softball diamond

The East Georgia State College Lady Bobcats continued their winning ways this past Sunday afternoon with two wins over Glen Oaks College from Michigan.
In Game 1, the Lady Bobcats were led on the mound by Britney Foster, who would strikeout seven batters in five innings of work and pick up the victory with a 14-1 win. EGSC provided great run support, scoring 14 runs on 18 hits in just four innings. The Lady Bobcats were led at the plate by Alaina Lee, who went 3-4 at the plate with a single, double, and home run. Jana Crews, Makenzie Wilkerson, Sierra Taylor, Dani Wells, and Stephanie Ruffin each had 2-hit performances for East Georgia.
In Game 2, the Lady Bobcats’ bats stayed hot. The team scored nine runs in the first two innings on 11 hits. Allana Hooks and Taylor Morgan each had home runs in Game 2 with Morgan, Lee and Taylor each having 2-hit performances. The Lady Bobcats won Game 2 by a score of 9-0.
Madison Bussell got the win with two strikeouts, allowing just four hits in five innings for the Lady ‘Cats. With the victories, EGSC moved atop the GCAA conference on the season.
Head Coach Chuck Wimberly stated after the victories, “We have hit the ball really well over the past four games, and our pitching has been lights out. We simply need to stay aggressive at the plate and pitch with confidence.”
