EGSC performing arts group preparing for fall production

East Georgia State College’s performing arts group is currently rehearsing for its fall play production next month.

The group’s production of Donald Elser’s “Balcony Scene” will be held Friday, November 12, at 6 p.m.; Saturday, November 13, at 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 14, at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Luck F. Gambrell Auditorium on the EGSC – Swainsboro site.

“Balcony Scene” imagines what it would be like if a person were forced to attend his or her own funeral. The play deals with love, loss, and the lives that must go on after someone dies. It also reveals, in a startlingly unvarnished way, the truths that people often hide from one another in life.

The play is open to the community, and tickets can be purchased at the door. Black Box, or stage level, tickets are $5, whereas general admission tickets are $3 each. EGSC students can attend the Friday night production for free with their valid school ID. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to help fund future productions.

For more information about the event, contact Christian Kraus, EGSC Performing Arts Group Director, at ckraus@ega.edu or by phone at 478-289-2113.
