EGSC to host Constitution Day presentation

In celebration of the creation of the American Constitution, East Georgia State College (EGSC) will sponsor a lecture and discussion on the First Amendment and the Constitution on Tuesday, September 20, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The guest lecturer is Dr. Joseph Fornieri, professor of Political Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He is the author of Abraham Lincoln’s Political Faith (2005), an acclaimed scholarly work that explores Lincoln’s religion and politics, among many other books. His recent book on free speech under the U.S. Constitution, Free Speech: Core Court Cases, can be downloaded free of charge at https://teachingamericanhistory.org/product/free-speech.
At RIT Fornieri teaches courses on American politics, political philosophy, and constitutional rights and liberties.
“With our current constitutional challenges, it is vital for the world’s leading democracy to remember our roots and discuss our Constitution. EGSC welcomes our whole community to share in these conversations,” said Dr. Lee Cheek, professor of Political Science at EGSC.
