Emanuel County Historic Society to host Annual Fall Open House

The Emanuel County Historic Society will host its Annual Fall Open House on Saturday, October 22nd from 5-8 p.m. This year we’re trying something new.
Our outbuildings are rich in the history of this county, and we are going to tell that in four of the buildings: Coleman Academy, Stevens Crossing Post Office, Sycamores and the Hendley Cabin. This history will have a little twist to it, based on facts mixed with fiction and a surprise “ghost” story built in. We have been told of an apparition, a good one, having been seen in the neighborhood for several years which gave us this idea.
Not to worry! This “ghost” is a good person, full of love and understanding. We will not involve scary, spooky ghosts. This will be suitable for children of all ages. We hope you will come out. All the buildings will be open as usual. No admission is ever charged at the Longview Farm and County Museum.
