Mrs. Eula Rowland Kittrell was born March 9, 1947 to the late Mayo Rowland and Evelyn Scarboro Rowland in Kite. She met her eventual husband, Don Kittrell, in 1961 at a party in Kite, and they married in August 1965. They had three children: Melanie, Danielle, and Kenneth.
After graduating from Wadley High School in 1965, Mrs. Kittrell married Don and went to technical school in Dublin. Her first job out of high school was at the shirt factory in Wadley. She worked there for several years until Don was stationed in Texas.
Prior to retiring to Kite 13 years ago, Mrs. Kittrell lived in Kathleen, where she worked for Houston County Water System. She was a leader in her church community, attended work and school functions for her children, and was an active member of her community. She received several awards while working with Houston County Water System, including a Total Quality Award. One of her greatest strengths was her gift of welcoming people into her home; meals and dinners at her home focused on making people feel cared for and loved. Whether she was leading a Bible study group or hosting a low country boil, she opened her home to friends and family.

She was a also member of Kite First Baptist Church and worked with Angels in Flight, a recovery center in Wrightsville, and focused on helping, supporting, and mentoring the women with whom she worked. She will be greatly missed.
