Falcons Sneak Past the Browns to Improve to 2-2
By: Justin Gray

The Atlanta Falcons are off to an improbable start after beating the Browns and Seahawks. The Falcons were ranked as having the worst roster in the whole NFL, but this season they have been anything but that. They have done it with good offense and a defense that does its job. The Browns came into Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Falcons gave them a harsh welcome. The Falcons received the opening kickoff and the offense had a great drive resulting in a field goal. The Cleveland offense took the field and that dirty bird defense forced a fumble on the second play of the drive.
It took only three plays before Falcons RB Cordarelle Patterson walked into the end zone for the touchdown making it 10-0. The Browns then drove it 75 yards on 16 plays and capped it off with their own trip to the end zone. After the kickoff the Falcons were quickly forced to punt and the Browns went down and kicked a field goal to tie it at half. The first two possessions in the half for both teams ended with a punt with only 13 combined plays run. The Falcons QB Marcus Mariota then threw an interception leading to a Browns field goal making it 13-10. On the next drive the Falcons responded with a touchdown by RB Caleb Huntley, they didn’t attempt a pass on the drive.
The Browns punched it in the end zone after former Georgia Bulldog Nick Chubb took it 28 yards. The score was 20-17 Browns. The Falcons had a good offensive drive resulting in a game tying field goal. The defense forced a Browns punt and the Falcons kicked what became the game winning field goal.
The Browns had a chance to tie/win the game, but that bid was cut short after a Dee Alford interception. The Falcons are now tied for first place in the NFC South and have a chance to gain whole possession of first on the road in Tampa Bay against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
