Farm Bureau names essay contest winners

The winners of this year’s essay contest organized by Emanuel County Farm Bureau have now been identified. Bryan Beasley won first place, Aubrey Williams earned second, and Juddson Wilkes took third. All are seventh grade students at David Emanuel Academy.

Each year, Emanuel County Farm Bureau’s women’s committee sponsors an essay contest to help students understand the importance of agriculture in everyday life. Each year, students must write on a certain topic. The topic this year was, “How Georgia Farm Bureau Farm Markets and Agritourism in General Benefit Farms and Consumers.”

Beasley, Williams, and Wilkes all received a cash prize, and all participants received a certificate. Dana Nasworthy of the women’s committee, along with DEA teacher Laura Moore, presented the students their awards.
