Four defendants sentenced in superior court
Emanuel County Superior Court convened last week to continue addressing September cases. By the end of the session, three men and one woman were sentenced.
Ashley Nichole Archer negotiated a guilty plea on one count of burglary in the first degree. Archer was sentenced to 20 years to be served on probation. She was fined $50.
David Michael Williams negotiated a guilty plea on one count of theft by taking. Williams received 20 years with the first 18 months to be served in confinement and the rest to be served on probation. He also received a fine of $50.
Justin Jerrell Cannady negotiated a guilty plea on one count of possession of cocaine and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Cannady was sentenced to 10 years of probation and fined $500.
Javier Alegria negotiated guilty pleas on one count of aggravated sexual battery, four counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, and eight counts of child molestation. Alegria was sentenced to life with the first 25 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. He was fined $50.
