Frye wins at system level

In January, Swainsboro Primary named its school-level winners of the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition. First grader Avery Frye’s work went up against that written by other first graders in the district, and SPS announced last Tuesday afternoon that Frye had been chosen as the system level winner for first grade.

Her winning story was titled “Lucy, The Butterfly” and will now move on for statewide consideration.

The Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition encourages students to use their creativity and imagination when working through the composition process as students are not given a specific prompt.
