Mr. Gary Lawson Lindsey was born March 5, 1950 in Kite to the late Enoch L. Lindsey and Alma Lou Kight Lindsey. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, and he was the prime example of a family man. Everything he did was for his family. His son, Justin, was his pride and joy; he didn’t miss an opportunity to watch him play ball. He spent countless hours on a ball field cheering on Justin. Not only was Mr. Lindsey a devoted father, he was also a loving husband to his wife, Teresa, of 44 years. They made many precious memories as husband and wife. He also loved to fish, tend to the garden, and build anything and everything he could think of in his shop. Mr. Lindsey was employed for 32 years at Husqvarna in Swainsboro as a maintenance supervisor. He took great pride in his home and his cabin because he built them both with his own two hands and a little help from friends and family. The only thing he enjoyed more than fishing and being outside was watching his grandkids play ball. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Wilkerson Lindsey of Kite; son, Justin (Lauren) Lindsey of Kite; brother, Edward (Frances) Lindsey; grandchildren, Layton Lindsey, Lennox Kate Lindsey, and Hadleigh Blake Lindsey; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Rollie Turner, Sherman Stapleton, Royce “Lee” Page III, Joshua Page, Tommy Scarboro, Brian Lindsey, and Danny Fortner. Honorary pallbearers were Duane Roberts, Johnny Kirby, Royce Lee Page II “Hoss”, Stoney Stapleton, Matt Edwards, and Jamie Blackwell.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
