Georgia Baseball Back In Full Swing
By Justin Gray
Pre-season practice has begun and the Dawgs are looking forward to a tough but fun schedule. Last year was a good season for the Dawgs baseball team who lost in the Regional at the University of North Carolina. This year they have their eyes on making it further than that. They will be tested often during the season as there are nine SEC teams in the Preseason Top 25 with four of them are in the Top Five. The Dawgs were a really young team last year and got some great experience headed into this season. The Dawgs are expected to have a real shot to host a regional this year, even with the tough schedule they play. They open the season up in Athens at Foley Field against Jacksonville State, February 17-19. Head Coach Scott Stricklin previews the home season, “Season tickets, and the demand that we have for our home games this year is at an all-time high. We’re going to play in front of some big crowds. We’ve got a great home slate, we’ve got a lot of really good teams coming in here. We’re anticipating Foley Field being packed, and being loud, and being a real home-field advantage for us.” This is set to be a great year for the Bulldogs.
