Georgia continues their dominant season

By Justin Gray

The number one Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of a huge win against Tennessee and sometimes the week after can hurt you, but it was obvious the Dawgs were focused. Going to play at Mississippi State can be tough but the Georgia passing attack and dominant defense came up huge.

The Dawgs defense stopped Mississippi State cold on the first drive. Immediately after, that explosive Georgia offense went to work. They drove it 73 yards on nine plays and QB Stetson Bennett hit TE Brock Bowers on a dump pass for the touchdown. Both offenses struggled for a while before they traded field goals and it was 10-3. The Dawgs then had a long drive and Bennett ran it in from four yards out to extend the lead to 17-3.

Mississippi State put together a good drive, but was forced to kick a field goal again. The Dawgs tried to make something happen before half, but were forced to punt. The worst thing that could have happened, happened. MSU’s returner picked up the bouncing punt, made someone miss then took it to the house and MSU cut the lead to 17-12 before half. Coming out of the half, it only took the Dawgs two plays before WR Ladd McConkey took a jet sweep 70 yards to the house to make it a 24-12 ballgame. The defense forced a quick punt. The offense got back to work quickly, driving it down and extending their lead to 31-12 on a pass from Bennett to McConkey. The defense wasn’t allowing anything as they forced a quick punt, but Bennett threw an interception so the Defense was back on the field.

MSU capitalized and it took them two plays to score, it was now 31-19, but the Dawgs finished it from here. The Dawgs scored two more touchdowns at the hands of Darnell Washington and Kendall Milton to put it out of reach making the final 45-19. The Dawgs have two games left before the regular season is over.

This week they head to Kentucky to take on the Wildcats, the Dawgs should have no problem with this one as they go in 22 point favorites. This team is poised for another national championship run and it's going to be fun to watch, but they have to handle business three more times first.
