Georgia Wins Second Straight National Championship
By Justin Gray

The best day of the year for college football fans came, and it did not disappoint for Georgia fans. The Dawgs were set to take on TCU, and the Dawgs were favored heavily in this one. TCU has been an underdog story all year and have had a magical run, but the magic always runs out. This game got out of hand quickly. The Dawgs forced a punt and then scored five plays later on a Stetson Bennett 21 yard touchdown run. TCU fumbled on the next drive, and the Dawgs capitalized with a field goal to make it 10-0. TCU put together a nice drive and a score to cut it to 10-7, but that was the closest it got, because then the beat down started. The Dawgs scored on a pass from Bennett to Ladd McConkey for a 37 yard touchdown. The defense forced a punt, and the Dawgs drove it 92 yards on 11 plays to cap it off with another Bennett rushing touchdown. The Dawgs defense forced an interception on both of TCU’s next two drives, and the Dawgs scored after both turnovers. Going into halftime it was already 38-7. This game got even uglier in the second half as it was 52-7 after the third and the final was 65-7. What a game from the Dawgs, total dominance. The MVP on the offensive side of the ball was Stetson Bennett who played in his final game at UGA. He threw for 304 yards and rushed for 39 yards, he accounted for six touchdowns, four passing and two rushing. It was quite the ending for the best QB in UGA history. The Defensive MVP was Javon Bullard, he recovered a fumble and had two interceptions. The Dawgs finished the season a perfect 15-0, one of only four teams in the modern era to do it and the first back-to-back champion in the College Football Playoff era. After losing so many players off of last years’ team many wondered if the Dawgs could defend their crown, and they did. What a team, what a season from the Dawgs. After so many years of coming up just shy and some disappointed, the Bulldog faithful has received its “Glory Days”. Enjoy it, Bulldogs Fans!
