Memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hilley officiating. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Corbin was born March 22, 1936, and raised in Greenville, S.C. to Harper Eugene Staton and Lillie Nix Staton. She graduated in 1954 from Parker High School where she learned her vocation of cosmetology. She worked as a cosmetologist for her whole career, across many moves from Delaware, Washington D. C., Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, to Georgia. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Evans and during her lifetime, she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She loved her church family and always found a loving church to worship in and support. Always a wonderful homemaker, there was a time when she enjoyed sewing clothes for herself and her daughter, mastered basket weaving, did some flower arranging, and was proficient in the kitchen: baking and cooking for her hungry family. She enjoyed flea market shopping, collecting teapots, walking, square dancing, and yoga classes. Since June 2022, she has resided at Integrity Cedar Plantation in Metter.
