Get ready! It’s almost time for Friday night football!

Look who’s getting into shape! Emanuel County Institute’s varsity Bulldogs as well as Swainsboro High School’s varsity Tigers are gearing up for the 2021 season. Check out these photos from their practices last week.

ECI played its first scrimmage of the year this past Friday night, beating Clinch County on the road 27-16. The latest schedule indicates Swainsboro should play a scrimmage on Thursday, August 12, on the road against Johnson County.

The Bulldogs and the Tigers will both play their first season games on Friday, August 20. ECI will be at home versus Savannah Christian next week while Swainsboro will play Metter. Both games will kick off at 7 p.m.

Look for results in next week’s edition of The Chronicle.

David Emanuel Academy won’t begin its 2021 season until September 2. At that time, the Eagles will travel to Peoples Baptist Academy to take on the Knights starting at 7 p.m.

Also, don’t forget about Swainsboro High’s annual Meet The Tigers event. To be held this Wednesday, August 11, at 6 p.m. at Tiger Field, the community is invited.
