Give that Dawg a bone! ECI is ready to continue history of success

Ahead of this “special section,” we at The Chronicle reached out to he ECI Bulldogs’ long-time head coach Chris Kearson to get some perspective about both the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He stated in an email to The Chronicle that last year had many ups and downs. The downs were ultimately missing the playoffs, the injuries that you never want see happen to players, and the fact that the program play up to the high standard it has set for itself over the years. The ups were a big early season win at home against Vidalia and a home win against always-tough Claxton. Down the stretch, ECI, according to its coach, just wasn’t good enough to get in the playoffs, which is something that that has to be fixed this year.

The 2021 Bulldogs, according to Kearson, are looking to start a new streak after missing the playoffs for the first time in 17 straight years. This group seems hungry and, with the addition of some players who missed all or part of the season last year, should be better. Question marks are going to be answered in a few positions, but for the most part, the ‘Dawgs return experienced players at every level. The scrimmages with Clinch and Fitzgerald will answer a lot of those questions, along with a rugged, non-region slate of Savannah Christian, Savannah Country Day, and Vidalia.

Included on this page for all of the Dawgs’ faithful fans are the ‘21 roster and schedule.

From us here at The Crossroads to ECI, good luck and have a great season!
