High school sweethearts to become one


Sandy and David Coursey of Metter and Sidney and Renee Rhoney of Garfield are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Syndey Lauren Rhoney, to Mr. Benjamin Collin Watson. The future groom is the son of Linda and Allen Jordan of Swainsboro and Dave Watson of Twin City.


Miss Rhoney is a 2015 graduate of David Emanuel Academy. She attended Georgia Southern University as well as Southeastern Technical College. In 2019, she completed the dental hygiene program. Miss Rhoney is currently employed as a registered dental hygienist at Statesboro Pediatric Dentistry.


She is the granddaughter of David and Patricia Rhoney of Metter, the late Russell Cardell, and the late Eloise Cardell.


Mr. Watson graduated from David Emanuel Academy in 2014. He is a package car driver with United Parcel Service today.


His grandparents include Jimmy Wilson of Kite, Joyce Watson of Twin City, the late Nell Wilson, and the late Notty Watson.


The couple will wed March 27, 2021 at 6 p.m. at The Barn at Collins Family Farm in Cobbtown. A reception will follow. Formal invitations will be sent.


Miss Rhoney and Mr. Watson are registered on Amazon as well as at Canoochee Creek Market in Metter, Yard Master in Swainsboro, and Stewart’s Jewelers in Swainsboro. Their wedding website is www.zola.com/wedding/collin-lauren.


The happy couple began dating while in high school and became engaged on March 18, 2020.
