Emanuel County Historic Society will hold its annual meeting Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at a different location than normal. This year, the meeting will take place at 161 Museum Road across from the fairgrounds; this is a change from where the meetings have been held previously, the Varner 4-H Clubhouse.
Gates will open around 5 p.m. for touring with a potluck supper to be served at 7. Officers and board members will be elected after the supper.
Attendees are asked to bring a meat, vegetable, salad, or dessert dish.
Historic society leader Missy Elder says program for the evening will be “very interesting for anyone who follows World War II history.” Jason Wetzel, co-author of “Georgia POW Camps in World War II,” will be the speaker. Wetzel will also bring some of his books to autograph and sell.
