Hobbs wins inaugural Wesley Woods Sportsmanship Award at 2022 PTF Tennis Tournament

The annual Pine Tree Festival Tennis Tournament took place last weekend and honored two individuals in a special way.

Wesley Woods was singles champion of the last tournament before he lost his life to cancer in February 2021. Event organizers planned to hand out a sportsmanship award in his honor when the tournament rolled around this year, and the plan came to life as Henry Hobbs was bestowed the award for portraying Woods’s great qualities on the court.

Awards were also given out in nine other categories.

The 14-and-under girls singles went to Sydney Kate Aaron. Grayson Brassell finished runner-up.

The 14-and-under boys singles title was secured by Gavin Schaff while Kayden Childs (not photographed) placed second.
