Private graveside services for Hugh B. Johnson, 78 of Garfield, were held Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Jenkins County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hugh B. Johnson was born September 2, 1943 in Millen to the late Pike Johnson and Trobie Johnson Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a Baptist by faith. His passions in life were his faith, his family, and his farm. Mr. Johnson’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, and riding around his farmland. He also enjoyed many years of cheering for the Falcons—win or lose. He was a simple country man who lived an extraordinary life.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years and his baby, Martha Sue Johnson of Garfield; son, Wes Johnson (Monica) of Millen; daughters, Teri Price (Joe) and Sheri Johnson (Jeff Newsome), both of Swainsboro, and Sheila Faulkner (Billy) of Twin City; grandchildren, Patrick Price (Lauren), Marla Hooks (Ashley), Ryan Price (Kim), Jennifer Kelly (Shay), Jada DeBoo (Joey), River Jordan (Taylor), Christian Woods, Zach Woods, and Alaina Boulineau; great-grandchildren, Ella Jo Hooks, Broxton Hooks, Zella Price, Joslyn DeBoo, Bowen Jordan, and Molly Rose Jordan; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
