Miss Kyler Sauce and Mr. Daren Akridge were united in holy matrimony at First Baptist Church of Swainsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The intimate double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Casey Shaw.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Brian and Mrs. Jill Sauce of Swainsboro. Her grandparents include Scott and Nita Livingtston of Swainsboro. The groom, the son of Mr. Ed and Mrs. Brandi Akridge of Twin City, is the grandson of Mr. Garland and Mrs. Ann Akridge of Twin City.
The wedding was decorated in brass accents with lots of candles and flowers. Mrs. Akridge wore a backless, ivory, A-line dress with lace and beaded detail. Her bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses in blush pink while all the groomsmen wore navy suits.
Big Jon’s BBQ catered the reception. In addition to barbecue, there was potato salad, green beans, pasta salad, baked beans, rolls, and fruit. The Akridges had a simple, white, three-tiered cake prepared by Patti Hendley. The groom’s cake was a coconut cake.
The wedding party included best man Dexter Akridge; groomsmen Blake Akridge, Travis Akridge, Bailey Sauce, and Colton York; maid of honor Bethany Way; matrons of honor Whitney Wheeler and Kristen Howell; and bridesmaids Brianna Clay and Madison Taylor. Braxton Hayslip was ring bearer, and Brinley Wheeler was a flower girl. The bride and groom had Forest Mills deejay the wedding.
The newlyweds honeymooned in a beautiful treehouse cabin in Long Creek, South Carolina, where they went whitewater rafting.
Mr. and Mrs. Akridge met at a Christmas party in December 2018. They started dating in March 2019 and became engaged on July 15, 2020. Wedding planning went very smoothly for the new Mr. & Mrs. until the week of—at which point the bride says she became “very stressed.” Their big day went off without a hitch, and the happy couple now resides in Twin City, fully enjoying married life.
