Funeral services for JoAnn H. Hill, 59 of Swainsboro, were held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Endtime Faith Deliverance Church. Interment followed in the church’s cemetery. The family received friends Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. She passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at PruittHealth Swainsboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. JoAnn H. Hill was born August 17, 1962 in Swainsboro to the late Eddie Carswell and Juanita Hughes Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Juanita Sherrod; brother Joseph Carswell; and sisters Dianne Lee and Rosie Carswell.
Survivors include her special friend, Quincy Rountree of Twin City; son, Dwain King of Swainsboro; daughters, Mildred King, Shveckia Hoover (Julian Jenkins), and Quoshondra Hughes, all of Swainsboro; brothers, Jimmy Woods and Tony Woods both of Swainsboro, Jimmy Carswell of Atlanta, John Carswell of Seattle, Washington, Ed Willie Carswell and Dock Carswell (Angela), both of Swainsboro, and Eddie Carswell Jr. of Sylvania; sisters, Lavonia Woods and Melissa Woods both of Swainsboro, Betty King of Twin City, Mary Oglesby (Michael) of Canoochee, Annie Hill (London) of Swainsboro, Brenda Mack of Millen, Tarra Carswell and Julia Carswell, both of Swainsboro, Frankie Carswell of Statesboro, and LaShonda Waters of Sylvania; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Julian Jenkins, Timothy Jones, Albert Nelson Jr., Tommy Scott, Tony Woods, and Jimmy Woods were pallbearers.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
