Julius Alexander Cranford, Jr., 70

Mr. Julius Alexander Cranford, Jr., 70, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, N.C. The family received friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Mr. Cranford was born June 25, 1952, in Concord, N.C. to Julius Alexander Cranford, Sr. and Mildred McManis. Mr. Cranford was a fantastic cook and made the best breaded shrimp. He, along with his wife, Barbara, owned The Clock restaurant in Gainesville, Fla., for nearly 30 years. Mr. Cranford loved watching the University of Florida Gators and spending time with his fur babies, Precious, Petey and Max. He was a member of Eastwood Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Cranford is survived by his wife, Barbara Cranford of Swainsboro; son, Julius Alexander “Alex” Cranford, III, of Concord, N.C.; daughters, Renee Whittington (Jamie) of Cleveland, N.C., Kimberly Love of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Dustin, Devin, Dillan, Alexis, Skyla, Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ellie, Sonny, Wade; step-father, Bobby McManis; sisters, Adelle Campbell of Concord, N.C., Leighann Mullis of Tallahassee, Fla., Beverly Bowers of Mooresville, N.C.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
