Have you driven down Green Street lately? If you have, you may have noticed this storefront window painting at Stewart’s Jewelers. If you haven’t, a trip downtown might be worth it.
A red curtain spread across the window on the inside, a heart outlined in white on the outside, and scripture from 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love,” inside that heart combine and now don the storefront of Stewart’s Jewelers. The idea came from Daphne Scott, who, as a believer, loved the quote and thought it could be useful and effective to speak to everyone in this season rather than just being a store that sells jewelry.
The longtime home jewelry store set out to create something for everyone shortly after New Year’s, the week of January 11. As a result, Scott, Taylor McNeal, and Hannah Gomez united and worked together to bring to life what you see today on the store’s window.
Scott says many people have come inside to say how much they love the window painting. Some, she adds, have even called it inspiring.
The painting will remain on the window until February 21 when the jewelry store begins to prepare for all things spring.
