Two schools benefitted from the philanthropic efforts of a local civic organization last week.
Swainsboro Kiwanis Club visited both Swainsboro Primary School and David Emanuel Academy on Monday and Tuesday respectively, presenting monetary donations in the form of checks. These proceeds will be spent in different ways at the two institutions.
According to SPS, the $250 received from the Kiwanians will provide more books for the media center. DEA, on the other hand, plans to use the $250 to fund the purchase of additional materials for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and math) studies.
Swainsboro Primary’s principal, Ron Hirst, and David Emanuel’s headmaster, Haylee Free, accepted the presentations.
