Lady Bobcats win two against USC – Union, have two Players of the Week

The Lady Bobcats Softball Team defeated USC – Union Sunday at East Georgia State College by scores of 5-0 and 4-1. The Lady Bobcats finished the week with four wins and just two defeats.
Britney Foster picked up three of the Lady Bobcat wins on the mound with Madison Bussell getting a victory and Payten Strickland with a save.
At the plate, Sierra Taylor lead the Bobcats with 10 hits, 6 RBIs, and 6 runs scored.
She hit four singles, three doubles, one triple, and one homerun on the week.
The Lady Bobcats finished the week with an overall record of 8-4 on the season.
Player honors
Two of East Georgia State College’s softball players have been named Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Players of the Week. Sierra Taylor was named Player of the Week for EGSC’s conference, and Britney Foster was named Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Taylor had a .526 batting average, 6 runs, one triple, four doubles, one homerun, 6 RBIs, and 9 putouts in six games played last week.
Foster was 3-0 through 20 innings pitched. She gave up 7 unearned runs for 7 runs total given up, had 24 strikeouts, gave up 3 walks, and had a 3.15 ERA through three games last week.
This is the second time in EGSC’s history that the softball program has had a Player of the Week and a Pitcher of the Week for the conference during the same week.
