Library calling for artistic works ahead of Black History Month

Franklin Memorial Library announced last week an entry call for the annual Black History Month Poster Contest. The contest is open to area youth in elementary, middle, and high school.

To enter, participants should create a poster depicting the Black History Month theme for 2022: Black Health and Wellness. The poster must be an original creation. Any media (paint, crayon, markers, colored pencils, charcoal, stickers, etc.) may be used to create the submission.

The submission process is simple. Participants should bring their posters to Franklin Memorial Library, located at 331 W. Main Street in Swainsboro, or scan a copy or take a photo of the work, then email it to swainsborolibrary@gmail.com.

Entries should include the artist’s name, phone number, email address, grade, and school. The deadline is February 15.

Prizes will be awarded in each school category with winners to be announced and all entries to be showcased on Franklin Memorial’s Facebook page.
