Litchfield wins again at local dirt track

Fans packed the house Saturday night for some quality racing at Swainsboro’s half-mile oval just outside of town, and it would be Dylan Litchfield in the 9T car who secured his second win in as many weekends by the time the night ended.

He won the Lynn & Bob’s Crown Vic Pro class. Rounding out the top eight were Jared Peebles, Ryan Creamer, Samuel Strickland, Jordan Shurling, Dalton Kirby, BJ Mason, and Chris Watkins. Joel Stutz initially finished third but was disqualified, moving all subsequent finishers up one place.

Litchfield won the same Crown Vic Pro division last Saturday, March 29.

Jared Jones, competing in the Rustic Grill Street Stock class, almost secured a repeat as well. He finished the race first as the checkered flag waved, but a disqualification later would hand over the win to Alex Sturkie in the 40S machine. Others who finished behind Sturkie were: George Williamson, Donnie Bazemore, Justin Hart, and Chris Shaw, in that order.

Three other common names at the local track rose to the top Saturday night in their respective divisions: Tyler Sanders, Jamey Donaldson, and BB Burgamy.

Sanders maneuvered the 21S car to the front of the Southland Insurance 602 Late class for the win. Finishing behind him respectively were: Gavin Cowan, who won this division last week; Jordan Johnson, Phil Phitman, Trey Mills, Tyler Davis, Ricky McClain, Richard Johnson, Paul Smith, Josh Quick, Tyler Flakes, Kyle Connell, and Bubba Roling.

Donaldson, in his 17D car, outlasted his fellow Daniels Chevrolet Road Warrior competitors. This was the biggest class of the night. Rounding out the top 25 were: Jones, Justin Williams, Tanner Reich, Kary Alexander, Van Williams, Dallas Simmions, Robert Fail, Jaxson Monroe, Tyler Davis, RJ Coleman, Justin Brantley, Bradley Bratcher, Wesley Coleman, Evan Williams, Chris Tapley, Richard Lasting, Wendell Poole, Dustin Upshaw, Hart, Michael Sanders, Peyton Mikell, Bradley Moore, Daniel Newsome, and Scooter Taylor.

Burgamy drove his trusty 77JR machine to the front of the Smith’s Roll-offs Crown Vic Junior class. He has won this division several times in the past. Finishing behind him, in chronological order, were Wesley Watkins, Ethan Martin, Chloe Ivey, Eric Baggett, Matthew Morris, Caleb Cobure, and Mason Kirby.

Finally, Haiden Cowan, driving the 14 car, picked up the Zaxby’s Crate 604 Late win. Benjamin Cranford, Trey Mills, Caleb Gay, Henry Carter, Isaiah James, Ken Ricks, and Taylor Wood finished second through eighth respectively.
