Local faces in the national championship crowd

This past Monday night was a memorable one for all of UGA faithful, but especially so for the locals who got to make the trip to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Below are a few photos of Emanuel Countians who attended the historic game for the University of Georgia.

Kelly and Lauren Kirkland of Swainsboro take a selfie as the celebration commences on field. About being in attendance, Lauren said: “Watching the team we love win a national championship with a small town, south Georgia quarterback was the experience of a lifetime. The camaraderie between the fans and the team made it even more special.”

Arham Shah, a Swainsboro native, is currently a sophomore at UGA studying political science and public relations. He says the atmosphere, fans, and players were loud and proud throughout the game, so much so he’s never seen or experienced anything like it.

Stacey and Jackson Barber take a photo together to document the win as confetti explodes in the background.

Anna Wiggins, a junior at Georgia, along with her friend, Mayson Watford, a junior from Gray, commemorate the UGA victory with a keepsake photo. She said about their time in Indianapolis, “It was a once in a lifetime experience, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a student at the University of Georgia! As always, go Dawgs!”

Jade Mason and her husband, Trey, are all smiles as Georgia cements another record in the university's history book.
