Local hospital now offering infusions to help fight COVID

Emanuel Medical Center is pleased to inform the community about its new offering of the REGEN-COV infusion to help in the fight against COVID-19 in the local area.

For those who are unaware, REGEN-COV (casirvimab/imdevimab) is an outpatient infusion authorized for emergency use in the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19. These infusions are given in the hospital, but only take about three hours from start to finish time, meaning patients won’t have to spend the night at the hospital. To see if you can get REGEN-COV, check out the qualification list below:

• Symptom onset within the past 10 days.

• A positive COVID test result

• 12-years-old or older

• Weighing 88 pounds or more

• Not hospitalized or requiring any more oxygen than normal

If all of the above apply to you, you may qualify for the infusion. The next step would be talking to your primary care provider, who can then, in turn, work with Emanuel Medical to try and get you set up for treatment.
