Local SCV camp, Heritage Roses chapter participate in Christmas event, help families in need

At the beginning of the month, two civic groups from the area attended a holiday event in a nearby town. The groups also raised funds throughout December to help needy families from the local area this season.

On December 4, McLeod Moring Camp #1386 (as part of the Sons of Confederate Veterans organization) and the Heritage Roses #15 from Emanuel County (as part of the Georgia Society – Order of Confederate Rose organization) partnered up, prepared, and entered a float in the 2nd Annual Christmas in Dixie Festival in Vidalia. The event was hosted by Robert Toombs Camp #932 of the SCV.

Continuing the partnership, McLeod Moring Camp and the Heritage Roses then began to fundraise for the purpose of providing two families with needed items for a nice Christmas. Because the needs for the households varied, the groups specifically provided groceries for one family while the other family received clothing and other items of various sorts.
