Lonnie “Eddie” Smith, 55

Graveside memorial services for Lonnie “Eddie” Smith, 55 of Wrightsville, were held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend L. T. Logue officiating. He passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Lonnie “Eddie” Smith was born February 4, 1966 in Adrian to Roger Larry Smith and Mary Grace Newsome, both of whom preceded him in death. He was like a father to his nieces and nephews, whom he helped raise, and Mr. Smith was always willing to help anyone in need.

Survivors include his sister, Peggy Grant of Wrightsville; nieces, Haley Grant of Glennville and Rebecca Grant of Eastman; nephew, Billy Joe Grant,Jr. of Eastman; and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
