Make way for the champs! Athletics, Yankees, Nationals, Reds, and Red Sox are division winners



On Friday, April 30, Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department announced this year’s champions of its five different spring sports leagues.


The Athletics won the junior/senior girls softball division. On this roster were: Brianna Parks, Gracie Beneteau, Caley Wilkerson, Hannah Howard, Raegan Thompson, Abbigayle Hopkins, Julianna Henry, Rachel Hernandez, Chirsten McCoy, Addalyn Terwilliger, Sadie Self, and Abbigayle Coleman. They were coached by Roy Beneteau.


The Yankees won the midget softball division. Competing on this team were: Brook Fleming, Ariel Tanner, Holli Schoen, Ajlah Nobles, Haleigh Roberson, Aubrey Scott, Arlin Swanner, Kimiya Freeman, Mylie Beneteau, Rayleigh Faircloth, Kaley Flowers, Abby Randall Lewis, Sophie Lynn Young, Rayleigh Hutcheson, and London Hackett. Roy Beneteau, Daniel Flowers, and Ashley Roberson coached the Yankees.


The Nationals won the mite girls softball division. Team members included: Anna Grace Scarborough, Jaci White, Calli Fields, Abi Torpy, Amelia Taylor, Amiya Jones, Brooklyn Lewis, Cayleigh Taylor, Genesis Reese, Eden Joy Hudson, Analeigh Scarborough, Luna Mangarres, Maggie Grace Farrow, and Autumn Hernandez. Mitchell Hudson and Johnathon Scarborough coached this team.


The Reds won the mite boys baseball division. Players included: Kaden Johnson, Banks Burke, Kayden Sutherland, William Self, Case Black, Chance Langford, Layton Lindsey, Nathan Kersey, Treveon Rucker, Tyson Hackett III, and Drake Mason. Josh Black, Jason Moore, and Joey Burke were their coaches.


The Red Sox won the midget boys baseball division. This team was comprised of: Jeffery Webb

Cason Sapp, Demetri Stanford, Daniel Rogers, Landon Akridge, Johnny Allen, Collin King, Brendlee Morris, Maddux Hendrix, Chase Banks, Jeffery Davis, Jaxson White, Gavin Worthen, and Chance Worthen. Hugh Hendrix, Cody Caraway, and Daniel Rogers coached them.
