Memorial services for Martha Nell Akridge Beasley, 82 of Swainsboro, were held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rusty Moore officiating. Interment followed at Eastbrook Mausoleum. The family received friends and family one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. She died Sunday, November, 14, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her precious family.
Mrs. Martha Nell Akridge Beasley was born June 4, 1939 in Swainsboro to the late Jim and Trudie Stapleton Akridge. She was a graduate of Stillmore High School, retired from Creston Knitting Mills, and was an avid homemaker. Mrs. Beasley loved her family deeply and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. She was a lifelong member of Mount Shady Baptist Church and, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by sisters Leona Jones, Annie Marsh, and Katie Canady as well as brothers James Akridge, M. D. Akridge, and Alvie Akridge.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William Dent Beasley of Swainsboro; daughter, Melinda B. Brown (Gary) of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Mike Beasley (Debra) of Swainsboro; sister, Jean Henry (Colon) of Swainsboro; brothers, Ralph Akridge of Swainsboro and Elzie Akridge of Dellwood; grandchildren, Wesley Beasley (Krislyn), Kealia Wilcher (Craig), Mason Brown (Maura), and Denton Kade Beasley; great-grandchildren, Anna Kate Beasley, John Wright Beasley, Wills Beasley, Gaige Wilcher, Michael Wilcher, Remington Wilcher, and Mala Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
