Funeral services for Mary Ann Pearce, 77 of Swainsboro, were held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home. She passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Swainsboro.
Mrs. Mary Ann Pearce was born in Swainsboro, daughter of the late William and Venera Neal Barfield. She retired from Swainsboro Sportswear after more than 30 years of service as well as Spivey State Bank with almost 20 years of service. Mrs. Pearce was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church for most of her life; she was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She was a faithful pastor’s wife for more than 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Reverend Louis Pearce Sr. of Swainsboro; two daughters, Karen D. Carter (Robbie) of Swainsboro and Renee’ P. Thompson (Drew) of Savannah; three sons, John N. Lewis of Swainsboro, Roger Pearce (Ann) of Swainsboro, and Roby Pearce (Lynde) of Milledgeville; sister Betty Lou Mills of Savannah; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tra Pearce, Shawn Pearce, Ryan Pearce, Dakota Pearce, Jed Collum, William Collum and Dalton Pearce were pallbearers while the pastors and wives of the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association were honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 365, Swainsboro, Georgia 30401 in memory of Mary Ann Pearce.
