
With football season in full swing, The Chronicle’s sports staff spoke with ECI middle school head coach Greg Kennedy about his team’s first regular season game against the Bryan County Redskins.
Coach Kennedy said he was pleased with the performance of his team, stating the offensive line played really well, which led to their success running the football.
ECI middle school’s leading scorer was Tyler Foreman with runs of 70 yards, 15 yards, and 1 yard.
Chase Johnson added a touchdown run of 30 yards, and Tuff Boddiford topped off the scoring with a 5-yard run.
Coach Kennedy stated his defense was dominant, holding Bryan County to only 1 score and 3 first downs. He is excited about the progress the team has made, and he and his coaching staff are committed to continue encouraging the team during practice to excel in the fundamentals that ultimately lead to success on the field.
ECI middle school’s next test will be against the Metter Tigers on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at home. He invites everyone to come watch.
