Mr. Brian and Mrs. Karol Key of Swainsboro are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Mary Evans Key, to Mr. Austin Hunter Smith. He is the son of Mr. Matt and Mrs. Lisa Smith of Waynesboro and Mr. Barry and Mrs. Pam Thompson of Swainsboro.
The bride-elect graduated from Swainsboro High School with honors in 2018. Since then, she has earned an associate degree in early childhood education from East Georgia State College. Miss Key is on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Valdosta State University.
Her grandparents include Mr. Denny and Mrs. Peggy Key of Swainsboro, Ms. Phyllis Hutcheson of Adrian, the late O.C. Hutcheson.
The future groom graduated from Swainsboro High School with honors in 2017. He went on to attend Southeastern Technical College, where he earned various welding certificates. He is now employed with MacAljon, Inc. through Local 188, the pipefitters and welders union in Savannah.
His grandparents include Ms. Faye Smith of Swainsboro, Mr. Billy and Mrs. Bobbie McNeely of Swainsboro, the late Mr. Lawson Smith, and the late Mr. Ronald Walls.
The wedding is set for Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at Swainsboro First United Methodist Church. Formal invitations will be sent.
