Movie under the stars makes birthday one to remember

“Movie Night Under The Stars” was the theme of the festivities honoring Katie Dawn Kasper. The birthday girl celebrated turning 9-years-old July 10, 2021 on her actual birthday.

Upon arrival Katie Dawn and her guests enjoyed talking selfies on the red carpet, complete with a Hollywood movie night theme photo prop backdrop featuring “A Star Is Born, Happy Birthday” and lots of movie photo props to chose from to complete their selfies.

Guests tables were covered with black tablecloths accented movie reels across the bottom that read “Movie Night.” A red and white popcorn bucket full of popcorn adorned with assorted boxes of candy on skewers sticking out atop the buttery goodness and a reel of movie tickets completed the centerpiece for each guest table. The food table was covered with a red tablecloth accented with a movie reel tablerunner. The scrumptious two-tier confection was the focal point of the table. It featured a bottom layer of white icing embellished with gold stars made of fondant, and the top layer was iced in red and white stripes like a popcorn bucket. Atop the cake was a small bucket of popcorn, the honoree’s favorite trial-size candy bars, nine candles, and a large cake pick accented with sparkly movie themed objects that read “Happy Birthday.” Surrounding the elevated cake was a LED marquette sign that was personalized, “Happy Birthday K.D.!”, a stack of the honoree’s favorite movies, a director’s action sign, a decorated popcorn bucket to match the guest tables, and rolls and rolls of movie tickets. Guests were served hot dogs with all the fixings, assorted chips, a fruit tray and refreshments, along with cake and ice cream.

After the meal, guests enjoyed watching the birthday girl open her gifts. Then, she and her young guests were given glow bracelets and were entertained with several games of “glow in the dark” hide-and-seek!

Once it was good and dark, the guests got their lounge chairs and blankets and picked a spot on the grass. Katie Dawn got her director’s action sign and announced the feature presentation, Disney movie Luca, to her guests. The popcorn machine was fired up, and the movie began! Assorted candy bars, boxes of candy, and fresh-popped popcorn were served with refreshments. The birthday girl, her family, and friends had an amazing time watching the movie under the stars!

Helping Katie Dawn celebrate her special day were her parents, Robby and Trudie Kasper; brothers, Walt and Elynn Kasper; grandparents, Lynn and Dianne Edenfield and Ginny Kasper; great-grandmother, Lucy Edenfield; aunts and cousins, Lindsey, Brailey, and Colbie Radford, and Gracie Kasper; and several family and friends made the night one to remember.
