Mr. Bobby Sherrod, 83

Mr. Bobby Sherrod, 83, of Twin City, GA, passed away on May 19, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Dowless officiating, assisted by Reverend Andrew Flowers. The family received friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 21st, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Mr. Bobby was born on June 7, 1939, to the late Harvey Sherrod and Lula Scott Sherrod in Swainsboro, Georgia. Mr. Bobby farmed with his dad for many years. He loved going to church and fishing. Mr. Bobby was not one to ever meet a stranger. He was a very meek and humble man. He was a member of Swainsboro Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Mae Braddy Sherrod; daughter, Seresa Waters; son, Jimmy Ray Sherrod; sisters, Johnnie Canady, Lillian Hodges, Mary Rich, and Marjorie Johnson.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby Frank Sherrod of Twin City and Harvey Sherrod of Eastman; daughter, Ladona Lara of Metter; sisters, Janie Perkins of Waynesboro and Louise Barker of Millen; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Pallbearers were Sammy Braddy, Dale Brown, Jessie Brown, Bud Wright, Wendell Powell, and Cooper Henry.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
