Ms. Dianne Kimberly Dukes, 61



Ms. Dianne Kimberly Dukes, 61, of Kite, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness. A Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 20th at Chapman Funeral Home.

Ms. Dukes was born June 19, 1961, in Swainsboro to Benny Dukes and Alta Faye Webb Galbreath. She was the middle child of one older and one younger brother. Ms. Dukes was the best mom. She became a second mama to so many of her children’s friends. She always welcomed them into her home, no matter what the hour. She enjoyed catching and eating fish. She could pick the bones out of her fish by the time she was two years old. She went down in the history books as the first person to be married on the town square in the boneyard gazebo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Logan Wade Riddick Dukes.

Survivors include her sons, Ben Dukes of Dellwood, Charlie Stalnaker of Wrightsville; daughter, Michaela Wilkerson (Patrick Wentzel) of Kite; brothers, Darrel Dukes of Swainsboro, Gaines Cannady, Jr. of Dellwood; grandchildren, Aurora Beverly Kay Dukes, Summer Lei Wilkerson, Branson Riot Smith, Oakley Faye Wilkerson, John Payton “Rooster” Wentzel; nieces, Kolbie Cannady, Monique Cooper Hamiel, Misty Rae Skiles; and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
