Swainsboro Bass Fishing Team Makes History in Regional Qualifier

By Justin Gray

On January 21, the Swainsboro High Bass Fishing Team headed to Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Georgia. They competed in the GHSA Regional Qualifier amongst 251 other boats and had three boats weigh in fish. Garrett Peebles and Bo Brown caught five fish weighing in a total of 10 lbs and 13 oz. This was good enough for them to qualify for them for a chance to compete in the State Championship as well as place 18th overall in the tournament. The second boat with Mitchell Roberson and Jake Perkins caught three fish that weighed in at eight pounds. The third boat with Kason Palmer and Jacob Fagler who caught three fish weighing five pounds eleven ounces. They just missed the 8 lb 15 oz cutoff. They will fish again on February 18th. Great job guys!
